Find your next hunt.

Choose your species, county and dates. See matching seasons, local limits and dates you can save.

Choose an animal and county, then match the actual hunt: deer DMU, turkey license/hunt number, waterfowl area or small-game zone. County choices narrow the list; roads, rivers, islands and property access still matter. Check the current DNR guides and maps ↗. Small-game Zones 1/2/3 differ from waterfowl North/Middle/South. Deer tag privileges and combined bird bags remain in the results.

Year-round rules: Red squirrels, ground squirrels/chipmunks, woodchucks, feral pigeons, house sparrows and starlings have no closed hunting season under the current small-game guide. The finder bounds these entries to Aug. 1, 2026–July 31, 2027; local closures and license renewal still apply. Damage-control exceptions are separate from ordinary hunting.

REPORTING & DISEASE

Tag, report and check transport rules

Validate the paper or eHarvest tag before field dressing or moving the deer. Report harvest within 72 hours or before transferring possession, whichever is first. Report before submitting a head for testing.

CWD testing in 2026 focuses on Ionia, Kent, Mecosta, Montcalm and Newaygo. DNR also has bovine-TB surveillance in northeast counties; use current head-submission instructions and collection sites. Testing guidance is kept separate from hunting closures.

Montcalm County and specified Ionia/Kent townships have carcass-movement restrictions. Check permitted parts and the direct-to-registered-processor or licensed-taxidermist exceptions before moving a carcass. Out-of-state import rules also apply. Baiting and feeding are banned in the Lower Peninsula except specific qualifying disability-hunt bait exceptions; UP baiting has dates, volume and dispersal limits.
